Molon Labe Leather Tray

This stylish leather tray is embossed with the Greek phrase, Molon Labe.  Originally attributed to Spartan King Leonidas, this phrase roughly means "come and take them."  This expression of defiance has been in regular use since ancient times, and its English translation was a slogan of the Texas Revolution.  In contemporary America, Molon Labe is often used to express support for the second amendment and right to bear arms.  This tray is a great place to stash small items like phones, keys and coins, and makes a super gift.

It is constructed of heavy 8-10 oz vegetable tanned cowhide, and formed using traditional leather working techniques. The interior has been dyed dark brown and hand embossed.  The edges have been dyed deep brown and hand burnished, while the underside has been dyed black, waxed, and buffed to a lightly pebbled finish.
