At the end of the day, luxury not rooted in craftsmanship is only branding. There was a time that the most talented craftsmen were selected by the quality of their work; and, based on the strength of their craft, these highly skilled craftspeople came be the original luxury artisans.
Today, there are dozens of Swiss made automatic watch nameplates that share factory made movements, and there are high end handbags made in contracted sewing workshops by workers focusing on output instead of detail. At Four Robins, we don't claim to be luxury leather artisans, but we do make damn good dog collars. We do this by focusing on the things that gave rise to the idea of luxury in the first place: attention to detail, individual personality, and commitment to doing our very best on everything that we make.
